Ng is a composition for six bodies: three musicians and three dancers. The point of departure was understanding the act of making sounds as a choreographic action; sound as a consequence of motion. Motion is the origin sound, in some sense even sound itself, and therefore sound making is a choreographic practice. How does this inform our (acousmatic) listening?

Following this reasoning, sounds as sounds regarded are always abstractions; seeing that they are disconnected from the motion that they are a consequence of, in a perceptual sense. Perceiving sounds as singular entities can, in that sense, be seen as a paradox: presence of absence.

Ng was recorded binauraly with the Neumann Kunstkopf microphone (depicted on the front page) and engraved on a single dub plate vinyl, which filters out the visual aspects of the piece and leaves only the sound of the composition; the six bodies in motion.
